I want to honor and live according to my Savior and Lord’s design for His creation. You, I, the earth and the universe are His design! He created you and I after His own image and that includes creativity! Hooray!
Vintage
I am a rummage sale, thrift store, antiques store and auction junky! Put up a sign and I will follow the arrow! Another man’s junk is my treasure! We are called to be good stewards and I think reusing and repurposing old, unwanted things is fun and keeps God’s world less garbagey!
The Book
I know God called me to write a book and it was confirmed by a friend of my mom, who told me God told her that I was going to write a book. The revelation was out of the blue, she had no clue that I had the same word from God. I had told no one! The book will hopefully be finished in 2024. I am currently putting the finishing touches on it. As soon as it is ready I will announce it on the website!
The Second Book
My next book is being thought about right now. It may be a combination of quilt block designs with a story behind each. I am excited about the outcome!
Company Name
If you noticed the name of my business, you might be wondering what possessed me to name it so oddly. New Vintage (using old stuff to make new) Old Skins (biblical reference to wine skins, that refers to warning not sewing new material to old or it will burst). It is my way to show the world my philosophy to honor God in my business.
Alterations
I have been sewing for over 50 years! Professionally I have been doing alterations since 1982! Experience and attention to detail in every piece of clothing is my promise to you! If you need it done, I most likely can do it.
Memory Quilts
I have made memory quilts to honor loved ones, and also outgrown baby clothes. Each were created to showcase special memories and favorites worn to keep the quilt completely individual and unique.
Quilts
I make a variety of quilts throughout the year and have a stock of unique ones to choose from. I can create a custom quilt for you.
